BBS GmbH, based in Freiberg am Neckar, Germany, has over 75 years of experience in the field of industrial heating technology, thermal post-combustion and boiler design. BBS GmbH was established in 2004 through the merger between BAY Wärmetechnik GmbH and Bay Engineering und Consulting. The new company united the production of industrial boiler systems with the expertise required for engineering modern energy systems and environmental technology. In addition to manufacturing serial products, we also develop and manufacture boilers and apparatus for special applications employed in the cosmetics, chemical and petrochemical industries. Our scope of operation includes steam boilers, hot water boilers and thermal oil boilers. Pure steam generators and waste heat steam boilers for a wide range of applications are also part of our product portfolio.

In 1996, we emerged from a company which had previously been highly renowned for its laboratory machines and had been active on the market for 100 years. That company was Ruth Schwabenthan Maschinenfabrik and we consider ourselves the perfect successor to continue the product range of the time on the same market. Some loyal employees from the core workforce of the old company were actively involved in founding our new company. Setting out again after this hard break was tough, even though we had some crucial employees at the beginning who already had extensive and relevant experience from the previously mentioned Schwabenthan company to draw from. Since then, our company has had many of its own experiences and gathered its own expertise by successfully making an impressive number of machine designs a reality. Our customers not only come from Germany but are also increasingly from the rest of Europe and some are even from further afield right across the globe.

In 1997 with Vitro Laser GmbH, Rémy Renaud, company founder and spiritus rector, laid the foundations for the success story of his subsurface laser engraving that has lasted to today. The systems of Vitro Laser GmbH, which started in 1998 and were launched from Minden in Westphalia, Germany, in the following years, have made a name for themselves on the global markets. At the same time, starting in 1999, the company developed the process at its core for presenting 3D portraits in glass. By 2003, 100 installations had been produced. Today, in 2011, Vitro Laser Solutions UG is synonymous worldwide with the highest precision and an immeasurable level of sustainable expertise in the field of laser systems and laser systems for subsurface engraving.
