On 17th September 1959, Günter Hermann Pohl entered his aerosol business under the company name Güpo in the commercial register. He produced cosmetics and technical sprays with, among other things, a filling and gas supply technology that he had developed. In 1975 the company gained "GmbH" status as a private limited company and in 1978, moved into a new building in Kehl-Sundheim. The focus here was on the production of water-based sprays, primarily of foaming materials for detecting leaks in systems pressurised using gas or air. The range is undergoing constant expansion with continuous development under the new management. In 1998, trading began with Abrasiva (raw materials for polishing and cleaning) as a new area of business. Initially, the focus was on polishing alumina (aluminium oxides, Al2O3). As these only meet a limited number of market polishing requirements, the range was soon expanded to include aluminium silicates, aluminium hydroxides and other abrasives, both synthetic and mineral.

BBS GmbH, based in Freiberg am Neckar, Germany, has over 75 years of experience in the field of industrial heating technology, thermal post-combustion and boiler design. BBS GmbH was established in 2004 through the merger between BAY Wärmetechnik GmbH and Bay Engineering und Consulting. The new company united the production of industrial boiler systems with the expertise required for engineering modern energy systems and environmental technology. In addition to manufacturing serial products, we also develop and manufacture boilers and apparatus for special applications employed in the cosmetics, chemical and petrochemical industries. Our scope of operation includes steam boilers, hot water boilers and thermal oil boilers. Pure steam generators and waste heat steam boilers for a wide range of applications are also part of our product portfolio.

The company policy of AWK Verschlüsse GmbH & Co KG is based on three keystones: Quality, flexibility and service. And responsibility for the environment is always a focus here. Our committed team produces around 1.3 billion closures a year in two shifts. The history of AWK Verschlüsse GmbH & Co KG dates back to 1989, and production started in November 1990 with five production lines. In 1997, we were certified according to DIN ISO 9001. With the integration of PP production in 2003, we extended our portfolio to include seven more production lines. 2014 was the start of production machinery for the manufacture of PVC-free closures. Our product range includes various types of closures, including gas-tight aluminium closures, ventilating aluminium closures (Topvent) and pilfer-proof closures. These are used in a variety of areas such as mineral water, soft drinks, beer, wine, sparkling wine, milk and milk mix drinks, as well as spirits, pharmaceuticals, juices and kombucha.
